A Festive Movie Night

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, then you know I have been battling my way through finals season. For some reason my university thought it a great idea to end this quarter right before Christmas. As you could imagine, I’m dying to have a chill night, and in my mental breaks from studying and typing, I’ve been planning one.

Here is what my chill evening will look like:

First Movie of the Evening: The Nightmare Before Christmas

Many Blogmas posts this year have been centered on people’s favorite Christmas movies, and every time I’ve asked myself which is mine this is the first to come up. It’s not really a Christmas movie, but it is a classic. The Nightmare Before Christmas has been one of my favorites for over a decade, and I can’t even remember the last time I watched it. I’m definitely overdue.

Second Movie of the Evening: Love Actually

This movie is so good! I love how they portray different ways a person can love and that it can be so beautifully complicated. From romantic love to familial love, this movie has it. Not to mention the charm that many of the characters bring, and the comedy of others. This movie has a little bit of everything, and I appreciate it. Like Nightmare Before Christmas, I never considered this a Christmas film, but another blogger on Twitter did, so it counts now.

The Pampering Portion of the Evening

Given the fact that I train jiu jitsu, I’m positive that whenever this chill night happens I will need to redo my nails. Manicure and gi grips don’t quite go, so my nails are constantly in a state of needing repair. Luckily for me, I enjoy doing them.

I am also looking forward to being snuggled up while watching these films. I recently got the softest pair of socks in my winter FabFitFun box. They just scream coziness and relaxation. In addition to the coziness, I can’t have a chill night without food! I’ll probably be stopping Trader Joe’s to get some dairy free and grain free snacks. I’m not entirely sure what is going to be on the menu, but crackers and cheese is always a good go-to. I also really want to try making mulled wine, so I will be googling recipes.

What are some of your favorite things to do when you have a chill night? Do you have any mulled wine suggestions and recipes?

Happy holidays,
