There isn’t really much of a winter in southern California, so it is a little difficult to call this a “winter” routine. On top of that, my skin type doesn’t change throughout the year. Even when I lived in colder climates, my skin was dry in the summer and dryer in the winter.
As of late, however, I have been more conscious about taking care of my skin and making sure it stays hydrated and moisturized. I’ve tried and purchased new products, and have been using them consistently. Recently, I have even begun implementing both a day routine and a night routine.
Daytime Routine
My morning routine is much simpler than night time routine. Either during or after my shower, I cleanse my face. Lately, I have been using the Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleanser. It’s a product, and I have enjoyed using it. It doesn’t have much a sent, which I appreciate.
When it comes time to moisturize, I am now using the Burt’s Bees Brightening Moisturizing Cream. When I was on the hunt for a day cream, I wasn’t sure what to get. I knew that I wanted something natural and relatively inexpensive. Because of that, I typically go for Burt’s Bees product, and this day cream has not disappointed.
Nighttime Routine
The first thing I always do at night is remove my makeup. For years, I have been using the Yes to face wipes. At the moment, I am using the Yes to Blueberries Age Refresh Cleansing Wipes. Even though it might look like all of my makeup has been removed, I am well aware that no wipes remove everything.
My next step is to use Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water. It is amazing how much more makeup this removes from your already cleansed face. Once my skin is fully cleansed, about three times a week I use a face mask. For the past month I have been using the Shea Moisture Youth-Infusing Mud Mask. This helps exfoliate the skin and hopefully keep me wrinkle free for as long as possible.
The absolute final step is to moisturize my skin for the night. I am using the Burt’s Bees Renewal Firming Night Cream. This is the richest, most moisturizing lotion I have ever used. If there is one item that I recommend you purchase, it is this one. I will definitely be repurchasing.
What does your winter skincare routine look like? How cold is it where you are?
