Around this time of year, I love making this protein smoothie. In all reality, I could make it during any season, but there’s something about pumpkin spice in the fall and winter that is absolutely magical.
I had some leftover pumpkin puree from a recipe that I will be sharing tomorrow, and I decided to put it to use in my morning smoothie.
It’s a really simple recipe, and all you will need is 1/3 cup of pumpkin puree, almond milk, a frozen banana, cinnamon, and nutmeg. I used the Garden of Life Vanilla Plant-based protein.
Once you have gathered all of your ingredients, place them all in a blender, and blend still smooth. If you’re finding that the consistency is too think, feel free to add more almond milk. However, if you are tracking calories/macros, simply add water.
Also, add the cinnamon and nutmeg to taste. I never measure those. I typically go with a “that looks about right,” and it usually is for my taste. If you happen to have pumpkin pie spice, go ahead and use that. I have found, though, and cinnamon and nutmeg together are a good substitute.
