The Harry Potter Tag

My second blogger tag, and it’s Harry Potter themed! These tags have been really fun, and I feel like they add variety to the blog. So if you’re looking for a light and nerdy read, continue below.

  1. What house are you in?

Ravenclaw

Ravenclaws are known for being witty, intelligent, wise, sharp, and individual. I am definitely an individual, and I love learning and deepening my understanding of a variety of topics. Our house emblem is the eagle.

Horned Serpent

As an American, it felt only right to sort myself at Ilvermorny. Given that I’m Ravenclaw, this wasn’t much of a surprise. Per Pottermore, “the Horned Serpent represents the mind and prefers scholars.”

2. What is your Patronus?

Patronus

Perfect patronus is perfect! I love dogs and think St. Bernards are so cute! I couldn’t be happier with this patronus (which is kind of the point, right?).

3. What is your wand?

Wand

This wand is meant for the adventurous and adaptable witch or wizard.

4. What your boggart be?

A spider! I’m totally channeling Ron here.

5. What position would you play in Quidditch?

This one is a little bit tough. I feel like I would be a seeker, but I’m nearsighted, so it seems a bit ill fitting. However! If Harry can do it, so can I. I’ll just get contacts, though.

6. Would you be a pure blood, half blood, or muggle born?

Half blood. I’d want the best of both worlds, growing up with both cultures. I’d have wifi and magic. Pens and parchment. Quidditch and MMA.

7. What job would you want to have after graduating from Hogwarts?

This is a hard one. Part of me wants to say auror, but I know that I wouldn’t fully enjoy that. Working for the Ministry of Magic doesn’t have any creativity. I guess I’d work for the Daily Prophet or start my own magical magazine.

8. Which of the Deathly Hallows would you choose?

The invisibility cloak. It’s the least risky of the three as I’d rather not have someone trying to murder me for the Elder wand, and the thought of immortality has never been appealing.

9. Favorite book?

The Goblet of Fire. It has always been my favorite book. Don’t get me wrong. I really enjoyed the other books. This book was just the most action packed. We got to see dragons. It’s the turning point of the series. This is when the entire series starts to get interesting.

10. Least favorite book?

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but the Prisoner as Azkaban. I just remember this book dragging on… or maybe it just felt that way to me. I was bored a bit while reading this one.

11. Favorite film?

Same as my favorite book– The Goblet of Fire. Also, for the same reasons, even though they did take out quite a bit.

12. Least favorite film?

Also the same as my least favorite book– Prisoner of Azkaban.

13. Favorite character?

Oooooh! You went and did it with this question. How am I supposed to choose? There are so many great characters in this entire series! Instinctually, though, I am going to say Hermione. Like many, I always identified her.

14. Least favorite/most hated character?

Umbridge. Who didn’t hate her? Satan?

15. Favorite teacher at Hogwarts?

Professor McGonagall is one I connected with the most. She clearly cared very deeply for the students, made sure they were well educated, and provided them with life lessons and discipline to help them become better individuals.

16. Least favorite teacher at Hogwarts?

Again, Umbridge.

17. Do you have any unpopular opinions about the series?

Peeves was unnecessary. He didn’t add anything to the story, and was mostly annoying.

18. If you could save one character from the finale battle, who would you save?

Fred. That was just too devastating to read.

This was so much fun. Thank you, Emily, for tagging me. Check out her answers on her blog That Weird Girl Life. If you want to get sorted into a Hogwarts or Ilvermorny house, go to Pottermore.com and create an account. Also, if you just miss the world of Harry Potter, go to Pottermore. J.K. Rowling adds to the HP universe every so often on that site.

If you do, or if you already know your houses, let me know! Any fellow Ravenclaws out there?

Peace, Love, & Sol.

-Marisol

  1. This was so much fun to read! I literally laughed out loud about you wondering who likes Umbridge. (“Satan?”) And that’s so interesting about your thoughts on the Prisoner of Azkaban! I feel like that’s everyone’s favorite book, so I haven’t heard of too many people disliking it. I liked it, but I feel like a lot of people REALLY like it because of all of the Marauders fanfic and head-canons it’s spawned!
Thank you so much for doing the tag! And I’m so happy to know another fellow Ravenclaw and Horned Serpent! 😊

    1. I definitely think my thoughts on the Prisoner of Azkaban is an unpopular opinion. I’m glad you liked my post! I really enjoyed writing it, and getting back on Pottermore. Thanks for tagging me!
